GLOCK 30274 EJECTOR UPDATE
They need to update their website, put out the recall information, inform all their distributors, contact every PD and agency that uses late model Glocks, put ads in gun magazines whatever they need to do in order to get this information out to everyone. Yes, they will replace the parts if you call and hound them about it but that isn't good enough. If Glock had any honor, they would put out a voluntary recall out on all Gen 4 and Gen 3s made after 2009 for retrofitting with the new parts. The problems with late model Glocks aren't all the fault of the shooter. I'm sure he did not deliberately leave out what type of ammo he was shooting. (need to note that the 19 came back with a non-dimpled trigger bar, I installed the dimpled trigger bar afterward) Here are some pictures of the new fixed G19, next to the G34 for comparison. Here's a recent video of me shooting the G34 watch where the first round is ejected.Īnd another of my wife shooting the fixed Gen3. Hopefully the new ejector is the fix for these Gen3 guns and Glock has finally reversed the 'only Gen4' policy. The G19 will be monitored after several more matches and if the fix seems permanent then the G34 will go in for the new ejector/parts treatment. Judging by past experience with 'normal Glocks', the ejection is still relatively weak but it is definitely more consistent. My Wife ran the fixed G19 in an IDPA match last weekend and whatever Glock did really made a difference. Don't know exactly what has changed but it appears Glock has a fix and is now willing to take care of the Gen3 guys. We've all owned these for years and they aren't this finicky. Grip strength was obviously the variable. The problem really occurred when anybody else shot the gun, especially my wife brass would shoot every which way, often right back to the face. I did however notice that ejection is definitely weaker than other Glocks I have owned and that brass would dribble out of the ejection port and even shoot to the left, rarely straight back to the eyes. I've never really experienced the constant brass to the face symptoms that others seem to. It was surprising to see the new ejector installed as I had assumed the gun would be returned with an 'in spec' prognoses and no parts changed, requiring a second trip back to Smyrna.Ī little more detail, my experience with these two late Gen3 model pistols admittedly hasn't been that bad. Surprisingly, the pistol came back in less than 10 days with ALL internals replaced and the new Gen4 30274 ejector installed. I recently sent the G19 to Glock for warranty repair due to this issue. I have a Glock 19 & 34 with erratic ejection issues, both test-fired May of this year with the new finish.
